About HOLUALOA, HI
Ten minutes from the bustling town of Kailua-Kona, nestled on the slopes of the Big Island of Hawaii’s Mount Hualalai, is the cool upcountry village of Holualoa. A taste of old Hawaii just off the beaten path.
In the days gone by, when the mode of transportation was horses, donkeys, and Model-T’s and the population was located in the mauka (mountain) areas, daily life was centered on farming, and Holualoa was the hub of all the activity. Today the feeling of old Hawaii remains, but the face of the Village has changed. In the place of pool halls and saloons are bow Art Galleries and quaint shops.
At 1.300 feet, the cool green Village of Holualoa boasts many beautiful works of man and nature. Here you will discover one of Kona’s quiet wonders-with lush foliage, brilliant flowers, exotic fruit trees and world famous coffee. Visitors can take a coffee plantation tour and learn about the process from growing to roasting to tasting, or plan a getaway at one of our many beautiful B&B’s.
Take a leisurely three mile scenic drive up Hualalai Road and visit friendly Holualoa Village, where natural splendor, some of the best art in the state of Hawaii and the spirit of Aloha awaits you.
