Wantagh is a hamlet that consists of two census-designated places in Nassau County, New York, United States. The portion of Wantagh that is north of Jerusalem Avenue is considered North Wantagh, and the portion south of Jerusalem Avenue is considered just Wantagh or sometimes even "South" Wantagh.

Wantagh is in the southeastern part of the Town of Hempstead. It serves as a suburb of New York City on Long Island. The city is easily accessible through roads and commuter rail.
